Parvathaala Govinda who was formarly known as P.G Vinda is an Indian Cinematographer and Director. P.G Vinda came into limelight with his work in Indraganti Mohan Krishna's Grahanam. He is also a part of Asta Chemma, Anumanaspadam, Vinayakudu, Sneha Geetham, Lotus Pond, Anthaku Mundu Aa Tarwaatha.
Childhood & Education :
Vinda was born at a remote village Palem in Mehboobnagar on May 10th, 1976. From Childhood Vinda is a very bright student and found his interest in Science, as it contains more diagrams. He studied mostly in state government sponsored residential schools through scholarships. As a child he was always fascinated with the world around and started painting right from his very early years. Though a bright student in studies, financial state of his family made him to turn down his parents dream of becoming a doctor.
He graduated from the Jawaharlal Nehru Fine Arts University in Hyderabad with a degree in fine arts specializing in photography and visual communication after choosing photography over painting.
After completing his graduation, Vinda went on to assist cinematographer Madhu Ambat for RajKumar Sanotshi's Lajja. With that he has stopped doing still photograhy and went on for video related work. PG Vinda has shot some short movies Missing, Erase, Yaadi which some of them participated in New York film festivals and brought fame to him.
At this time through Hyderabad Film club Vinda and Mohan Krishna Indraganti got familiar with and also witnessing World's best 100 films at the club changed his perspective towards films. 'Grahanam' is his first film as cinematographer in the direction of Mohan Krishna Indraganti which was shot in digital. 'Grahanam' bought him much recognition along with National Award.
After 'Grahanam' he worked under directors like Neelakanta for 'Nandanavanam' and Vamsi for 'Anumanadaspadam', thriller genres. Later he worked for Asta Chemma, Vinayakudu and Sneha Geetham which all has worked well at the box office. With quick hits, before signing any movies further was backed away by his long term dream, direction. To pursue his dream Vinda has directed The Lotus Dream which was critically acclaimed by putting aside its box office performance.
Vinda was known in Tollywood for his grip on technology and usage of new techniques and cameras.
