Happening star, Vijay Devarakonda has come up with Taxiwaala. The scientific thriller has hit the screens today and let’s see whether it meets the expectations or not.
Shiva(Vijay Devarakonda) is a happy go lucky graduate who comes to Hyderabad for his livelihood. Upset with not finding a suitable job, he buys an old car and becomes a cab driver. Things take an U-turn when weird things start happening in his car and Shiva gets scared for his life and decides to dispose of his car. What is the backstory behind this car? Why is it troubling Shiva? and how will Shiva get rid of it? That forms the rest of story.
Taxiwaala ticks all the boxes that have become mandatory for a thriller movie, some of the elements like a haunted car, a mystery surrounding the unnatural occurrences. Even the camera moves will make sure the presence of something supernatural. At the starting of the film, there will be a two separate cases (one is related to Hero's family and another one related to flash back story) these two separate tracks in the film merge at one point by ending, which is quite interesting.
Director rahul idea of mysterious car is partially convinced. He has written his script well and implemented in a good manner. The way he build up the story in first half gives strength to the film, but unfortunately the second half of the film turns into a bit of drab. He takes enough time to reveal the main plot of the film. Vijay Devarakonda tries to shoulder the film and succeeds to an extent. The character named 'Hollywood' steals the show with his comedy timing. Both Priyanka Jawalkar and Malavika Nair has done justice to their roles.
There are very less characters in the film and director utilised them well. Production values are good. When comes to music except the one song ( Mate vinaduga ) remaining songs will not attracts the eyeballs of audience, but the background score is top notch. Cinematography and editing is pretty good.
Plus points :
* Vijay Devarakonda
* Comedy, BGM
* Engaging screen play, production values
Minus points :
* Over- lagged climax
* If any one doesn't connect to the main plot which will reveal in the starting of second half, it will be difficult to watch remaining balance.
On the whole, Taxiwaala is thoroughly enjoyable. It will entertain all section of audience and also the more expectations of audience on the film will leads to disappointment. The film will especially do well at the A centers because of its comedy thriller touch. Vijay delivers yet another memorable film. The dialogues are realistic and conversations leave a smile on your face. The guy who played Hollywood character is just amazing and he delivers a knock out performance.
